Why this dataset is different
- Every value points to a primary government source. Route records preserve the official URL and retrieval timestamp.
- History is append-only. New observations are added; earlier published values are not silently replaced.
- Dates mean what they say. We use the agency's own update date when supplied. When a source has no date, a changed value receives a clearly described first-observed date.
- Different measures stay separate. Backward-looking times, forward projections, service standards and percentile measures carry distinct
metric_typevalues. - Missing answers remain honest.

Core fields
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
entity_id | Stable route-and-metric identifier used by the JSON API. |
value_raw | The official published wording, preserved as displayed by the source. |
value_days | Normalized comparison value. The original unit remains in unit_original; range values use the upper end conservatively. |
metric_type | Whether the figure is published, backward-looking, forward-looking, a service standard or a percentile. |
effective_date | Agency update date when available; otherwise the first date GovWait observed that value. |
retrieved_at | UTC timestamp when GovWait fetched the source. |
source_url | Official government page or data file for the observation. |
source_collection_status | active when scheduled collection is available, or source_unavailable when GovWait has stopped fetching and is preserving the last verified snapshot. |
source_last_verified_at | The last successful GovWait source verification. It does not advance during a source outage or access closure. |
Freshness and method
The current export was generated October 6, 2026. The newest official update or first-observed date represented is October 2, 2026. GovWait checks active sources on a regular schedule, but each agency publishes on its own cadence. A failed active source or validation check stops publication rather than producing a guessed value; a source formally removed from collection remains clearly labeled with its last successful verification.
